The First Person series on our YouTube Channel features video interviews on our four key issues that are changing the face of our community.

FIRST PERSON - Energy Poll

With energy as the initial focus, we asked people questions about how they use energy.

"How are you preparing for the coming heating season?"

The recession and recent escalating fuel prices have served as a wake-up call for many in our community.  As a result, people are making difficult financial decisions.  We wanted to know the different ways they are preparing for the coming winter.

"How expensive does gas need to be for you to change how you get to work?"

Last year, a gallon of gas surpassed $4.00/gal.  As a result, many people indicated they parked their gas hogs, shared a ride, took the bus or biked to work.  Since that time gas prices have dropped, but may be creeping up again.  We wanted to know the price at which people would change their transportation choices.

"Do you use a dryer or clothesline?"

The Governor recently signed into law a bill  - the so-called "Right-to-Dry" law - that allows anyone to use a clothesline to dry their laundry.  For many this appears non-controversial, but homeowners' associations and a number of municipalities have restricted clothesline use due to aesthetic concerns. We asked people how they dry their clothes.
